5 Restaurant Food Preparation Tips That You Can Use In Your Home

One of the pleasures we all appreciate about eating out is having fresh food prepared for us by one of our favorite and extremely talented chefs. On the downside, however, dining out can prove to be expensive and sometimes the interruptions during your meal or being rushed to finish your food because the next clients are waiting for a table, can spoil the occasion completely. So, how would you feel if you could enjoy the same superb dining experience without the drawbacks right there in your own kitchen? Well, here are 5 tips to help you do just that.

Put a Label on It It’s a good idea to ensure everything in your kitchen carries a label. The reason for this is that at some time or another we have all taken something from the refrigerator and not been quite sure of what it was. Let’s face it, as far as spices go, you don’t want to be adding cilantro when you should be adding basil!

Tip Two: Clean, Sanitized and Safe Fine dining restaurants have impeccably clean kitchens. You would not walk into one of Gordon Ramsey’s kitchens and find it a mess. Take the time to clean your kitchen; this is the place that you are preparing food for your self, family and friends. Making sure it is clean will help reduce any possible contamination to food that you are preparing.

Tip 3 – Keep Everything in its Place In the kitchen of a restaurant you will never find cooked food stored alongside raw food. This is good basic hygiene practice so make sure you follow this simple rule. It’s also another good way to rule out food contamination too.

Make Sure It’s Fresh You will find food is always fresh in a real chef’s kitchen as they never use pre-made or packaged foods. Right down to the herbs and spices, the fresh foods you use to create your favorite dishes will get your taste buds tingling from the start and make your meal so much more enjoyable.

Be Imaginative In a restaurant kitchen you are hardly going to see recipes hanging around so when using your fresh ingredients in your impeccably clean kitchen take a little time to be imaginative with what you are cooking and try a few different combinations of food. You never know – you may be a much better cook than you think!
